Team Bleekemolen has brought the NASCAR Euro Series season to a highly successful close. During the American Festival NASCAR Finals at Circuit Zolder, the Dutch team celebrated an impressive haul of trophies, championship titles and strong results. Sebastiaan Bleekemolen, Vinnie Meskelis, Michael Bleekemolen, Beitske Visser and Pim van Riet all secured podium finishes, while Sandro Tavartkiladze claimed the Masters championship title. Meanwhile, back on home soil at Karting Emmen, Robin, Oliver and Benjamin Bleekemolen competed in the NXT GP Dutch Open, making valuable progress in their respective championship battles.
In the V8GP class, formerly known as the Pro class of the NASCAR Euro Series, Sebastiaan Bleekemolen secured third and fourth-place finishes. “Considering my results earlier this season, I’m absolutely delighted with that. A fantastic way to end the season!” Sebastiaan said, reflecting on his weekend. “We’ve had an incredible end to the season, with numerous podium finishes, championship titles and great results. We brought home a lot of trophies, making it a truly special conclusion to the NASCAR season, especially with so many guests watching from our hospitality area and pit garage.”
Teammate Vinnie Meskelis finished second in the weekend’s second V8GP race, marking his best result of the season. Pim van Riet, who joined Team Bleekemolen as a guest driver for the weekend, also made his mark with two third-place finishes in the Challenger class.
Team Bleekemolen drivers also enjoyed podium success in the Open class races. Michael Bleekemolen finished second in the Legends category in both races at Zolder. Beitske Visser won the Lady Trophy in both races, securing the overall Lady Trophy championship title. To round off the team’s success, Sandro Tavartkiladze claimed the Masters championship.
The youngest generation of the Bleekemolen family took to the karting track for the penultimate round of the NXT GP Dutch Open. At Karting Emmen, Robin Bleekemolen endured a challenging day in the Senior National class.
Her father Sebastiaan explained: “She got off to a fantastic start by winning the first race from pole position. Unfortunately, she was hit by another driver in the second race, which left her playing catch-up for the rest of the day. Despite that, Robin managed to limit the damage to her championship hopes. Her main rival also had a difficult day, including a retirement and a disappointing result in the opening race. With three heats remaining in Assen in two weeks’ time, everything is still to play for. The championship is far from decided!”
Just one week earlier, Robin had crowned her debut season in the Mazda MX-5 Cup by winning the Rookie championship. “An incredibly impressive achievement, especially considering she had to miss one round and there was a particularly strong field of rookies this year. Despite a slightly disappointing weekend in Emmen, Robin has enjoyed an exceptionally successful motorsport season.”
In Emmen, Oliver and Benjamin Bleekemolen competed in the Parolin Rocky 200cc class. Their father Jeroen Bleekemolen reflected on the weekend:
“Overall, we had a pretty good weekend, although the weather was poor and we simply weren’t quick enough in the rain. That was partly due to other drivers treating their tyres with a substance that makes them slightly softer and gives them more grip in wet conditions.
“After a disappointing qualifying session, we had to fight our way through the field in the races. Oliver started from P9 and worked his way up to P3, keeping himself firmly in contention for the championship. In dry conditions, he was the fastest driver on track.
“Benjamin was caught up in incidents twice but still managed to fight his way into the top ten, which was a great effort. We have one final race weekend in Assen ahead of us, we’re in a strong position, and hopefully we can come away with the championship title.”
